When I arrived in the office, I was surprised to find a Citibank envelope addressed to me on my desk. I was ecstatic! My first credit card finally arrived!
Until I picked it up, of course, and noticed that the envelope was slim and I did not feel a rectangular shaped, hard, flat object in it. I knew it was a rejection letter.
I was sad, of course, because I knew and felt I was a shoo- in already, especially with the commissions I get.
What I don't understand is, why do their agents keep bugging and calling you to apply for their card and then they reject you?! In fact, A applied to them three times and got rejected twice! (His third application is being processed as of the moment). He actually told the call agent that they keep inviting him and then rejecting his application.
A comforted me by saying credit card companies don't usually approve applicants who do not have other credit cards or who are applying their first credit card with them. Funny. I thought the positioning of the
credit card I was applying for was that
it is a young professional's first credit card. Who else earns a minimum gross annual income of P180,000 (that's Php 15,000 a month) and has a lifestyle that involes clubbing, malling and going out with friends? Certainly a yuppie like me.
Oooh, damn it to hell and back! I know I'm just gonna blow off my credit card on books.

Well... enjoy your credit card-free days. But yeah, it is frustrating when card companies do that. I've been through a similar experience and got really pissed. Such a hassle!
